Blues’n Jazz Rallye 2019
Sat 27th July 2019 in Grund, Clausen and Pfaffenthal
The Blues’n Jazz Rallye is a top annual event in Luxembourg city in the summer. The famous fortifications, listed as UNESCO heritage, provide a unique setting. Due to the pictorial location and nature of the urban festival, it is one of a kind in Europe.
Starting at the park behind Scott’s bar on the River Alzette down to the Rives de Clausen and the Abtei de Neumünster, the ‘Grund’ becomes an open-air festival that features a multitude of jazz and blues bands from across the world. Numerous open-air stages together with the adjacent bars along the river contribute to a unique experience.
This year more than two hundred renown artists will play live-concerts, on different open-air stages, and in several cafes, pubs, clubs and restaurants, spread all along the Alzette river.
There are numerous food stalls where you can grab something to eat or quench your thirst. If you are planning to attend from outside the city, be aware that hotel prices tend to increase substantially. The best access to this FREE festival is via foot and taking advantage of the frequent shuttle buses from Glacis that drop people off at the entrance of the Rives de Clausen. You can also get there through the ‘montée de la Pétrusse’ road, or the lifts at the Holy Ghost plateau and Park Pescatore.
The festival is on Saturday 27th July, starting at 6.00 pm.
